Account Deletion Policy

You can leave whenever you want, and we will not make it difficult. This page tells you exactly what happens when you do.

Request deletion from your account settings, or write to us through the Contact Us page or at macacademy.admin@gmail.com. We may ask you to confirm it is really you before we act on it, because an account deletion triggered by someone else would be far worse than a slow one.

You do not have to give a reason. If you want to tell us what went wrong, we would like to know, but it is not a condition.

• Deletion cannot be undone after 30 days, so consider:
• downloading your certificates — once your records are gone we cannot reissue them;
• exporting your data — you can request a portable copy under section 10 of our Privacy Policy;
• finishing a refund or support request — closing the account mid-way makes it harder to pay you back;
• whether you just want a break — if the problem is too much email, unsubscribing or changing your notification settings may be all you need. Ask us and we will help you with that instead.

• You are signed out everywhere and cannot sign in again.
• Your account is deactivated and marked for deletion.
• Your profile stops being visible to instructors and other learners.
• Scheduled and marketing email to you stops.

• your profile — name, email, photo, bio and preferences;
• your enrolments, progress, video positions and streaks;
• your assignments, submissions, quiz and test answers;
• your doubts, comments and reviews, or their detachment from your identity where removing them would break a discussion others are relying on;
• your AI tutor chats, if the 90-day clock has not already deleted them;
• your saved payment methods held by our payment partner.

Indian tax and accounting law requires a business to keep its financial records. So the following survive your deletion, with your personal details removed or replaced wherever the record still makes sense without them:

• orders, invoices, payments and refunds — kept for the period the law requires;
• certificate issuance records — kept so a certificate you have already given to an employer can still be verified as genuine;
• audit and security logs — kept in anonymised form, so a record of who did what on the platform survives without naming you.

We are telling you this plainly rather than implying that everything disappears, because that would not be true.

For 30 days after your request, the deletion can be reversed — if you change your mind, or if the request was not really yours. Write to us within that period and we will restore the account. After 30 days it is permanent and we cannot bring anything back, however much we would like to help.

• Deleting an instructor account needs a little more care, because learners have paid for your courses:
• learners who already bought your courses keep access to what they paid for;
• outstanding earnings are paid out before the account closes, so tell us your payout details are current;
• sales and payout records are kept as financial records under section 5;
• you can unpublish your courses first if you would rather they were not sold while this is settled.

Write to us and we will walk you through it rather than leaving you to guess.

Please talk to us first. Almost everything — a payment that did not go through, a course you cannot open, a refund, a certificate, a correction to your data — is sorted out fastest by simply telling us. Write to us through the Contact Us page or at macacademy.admin@gmail.com and a real person will read it. We aim to reply within 2 working days, and we will tell you honestly if something will take longer or if we cannot do what you have asked.

If you are not satisfied with our reply, you can escalate it to our Grievance Officer using the same contact details, and after that to the consumer forum or court nearest to you. Indian law applies to these documents and to your use of the platform. We would much rather fix the problem than argue about it.
